چکیده

The method of multi-particle collision dynamics (MPCD) and its different implementations are commonly used in the field soft matter physics to simulate fluid flow at micron scale. Typically, coarse-grained particles described by equation state an ideal gas, is rather compressible. This contrast conventional fluids, which incompressible for velocities much below speed sound, can cause inhomogeneities density. We propose algorithm MPCD with a modified rule that results non-ideal significantly decreased compressibility. It allows simulations less computational costs compared algorithms. derive analytic expressions corresponding compressibility as well shear viscosity. They show overall very good agreement simulations, where we determine pressure simulating quiet bulk viscosity linear Poiseuille flow.

Consistent particle - based algorithm with a non - ideal equation of state

– A thermodynamically consistent particle-based model for fluid dynamics with continuous velocities and a non-ideal equation of state is presented. Excluded volume interactions are modeled by means of biased stochastic multiparticle collisions which depend on the local velocities and densities. Momentum and energy are exactly conserved locally. The equation of state is derived and compared to i...

Density-Independent Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics for a Non-Ideal Equation of State

The smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) method is a useful numerical tool to study a variety of astrophysical and planetlogical problems. However, it turned out that the standard SPH algorithm has problems in dealing with hydrodynamical instabilities. This problem is due to the assumption that the local density distribution is differentiable. In order to solve this problem, a new SPH formulat...

Multi-Particle Collision Dynamics — a Particle-Based Mesoscale Simulation Approach to the Hydrodynamics of Complex Fluids

In this review, we describe and analyze a mesoscale simulation method for fluid flow, which was introduced by Malevanets and Kapral in 1999, and is now called multi-particle collision dynamics (MPC) or stochastic rotation dynamics (SRD). The method consists of alternating streaming and collision steps in an ensemble of point particles. The multi-particle collisions are performed by grouping par...

Constructing thermodynamically consistent models with a non-ideal equation of state

A recently introduced particle-based model for fluid dynamics with continuous velocities is generalized to model fluids with excluded volume effects. This is achieved through the use of biased stochastic multi-particle collisions which depend on local velocities and densities and conserve momentum and kinetic energy. The equation of state is derived and criteria for the correct choice of collis...

Mesoscopic simulation of non-ideal fluids with self-tuning of the equation of state

A dynamic optimization strategy is presented to generate customized equations of state (EOS) for the numerical simulation of non-ideal fluids at high density ratio. While stable branches of the analytical EOS are preserved, the spinodal region is self-tuned during the simulation, in order to compensate for numerical errors caused by discretization in phase space. ∗Dept. of Chemical Engineering,...
